Why Financial Planning?

For individuals and families, the quality of their lives--their lifestyles--demands their continuous attention. Their financial circumstances are a significant factor in shaping their lifestyles. Thus, it is critical that individuals and families examine and adapt their financial circumstances frequently. Financial planning is a process that helps individuals and families as they adapt their financial circumstances to a constantly changing environment.
Two major views of financial planning are common, lifecycle phases and areas of financial decisions.
Most individuals and families experience changes as they progress through phases of their lifecycles. Families with children experience the phase from anticipated birth through adolescence for each of their children. This extended phase calls for financial awareness and planning for both the child and the family. Family maturity, when children are independent, is another phase. Individuals, young adults after childhood, experience the phase involving transition from dependence on others (e.g., parents) to independence. The career phase(s) and, for many adults, family formation, involves many adaptations in lifestyles and financial decisions. For most individuals and families, the retirement phase requires years of planning and preparation plus wise management of financial resources for post-career income.

A list of areas in which changes occur and which require financial planning and decisions might include these:

Of course, a list such as this is generic and suggestive. It cannot reflect the unique and specific situations or needs of individuals and families.
KFS tailors financial strategies to the unique needs of each client. Such strategies often require financial solutions selected from annuities, insurance, securities, real estate, and alternative investments.
