About Charles J. Kinnison

Kinnison Financial Strategies began when I entered the financial planning field in 1988 after spending a few years helping small business people buy and sell businesses and commercial real estate. That was a very satisfying experience. My California real estate broker's license continues to be active. That enables me to help clients with real estate related issues. That earlier experience led to the realization that clients needed additional related assistance to manage their personal, family, and business assets competently.

I have been teaching finance courses for over 20 years as an Adjunct Professor with Saint Mary's College of California, a 5,000 student private college serving Northern California. Other teaching involves conducting continuing education workshops and seminars for clients. Several years ago, I completed a program of specialized education, receiving a post-graduate certificate in Personal Financial Planning from the University of California-Berkeley. Other specialized training related to retirement, estate planning, trusts, college planning, and related issues clients and their families experience. Prior to the real estate and business-brokering career, academics occupied my professional energies-spending 20 years at classroom teaching and administration in high schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges and universities. That was followed by several years as an education consultant for more than 200 colleges and universities in many states across the country.

The Bachelor's Degree with dual majors in Education and Business was from The Ohio State University; I completed the MBA at Kent State University, and received a Doctoral Degree (EdD) from University of Toledo with majors in both education and business. Saint Mary's College recently presented its special recognition award for more than 20 years of teaching with that institution, and I was recognized in Who's Who in America.

While the awards, degrees, and other honors have been satisfying, I always welcome new clients. And, that is why.
